Seattle (Feb. 18, 2019) – In her third State of the City Address, Seattle Mayor Jenny A. Durkan highlighted progress made on housing and homelessness and outlined her plans to further continue to address the affordable housing and homelessness crisis.

The affordable housing progress and investments detailed in Mayor Durkan’s 2020 State of the City include:
- Mayor Durkan Leverages City Investments to Nearly $1.5 Billion for Affordable Housing Across the City – Between 1981 and 2016, the City of Seattle created 10,000 units of affordable housing – Mayor Durkan has announced an increase of more than 4,000 homes coming online by 2022
- Mayor Durkan Continues Critical, Urgent Investments in City’s Homelessness Response and Improving Outcomes for People Experiencing Homelessness
