Why Your Participation Matters
The Fort Lawton redevelopment project will transform 34 acres of federally owned land in the Magnolia neighborhood into a thriving community. The plan includes up to 500 affordable housing units, ranging from permanent supportive housing for homeless veterans and seniors to homeownership opportunities for low- and middle-income families. The project also reserves almost 22 acres for parks, ensuring a balance between housing development and green space preservation.
This redevelopment reflects the city’s commitment to creating equitable housing opportunities while enhancing environmental stewardship. Community input is critical in ensuring that the project meets the needs of Seattle’s residents, aligns with environmental standards, and creates a balanced and inclusive community.
What to Expect
At the public comment session, attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about the details of the redevelopment plan.
- Review the findings from the DSEIS, which assess potential environmental and community impacts.
- Share your thoughts and feedback with city representatives. City officials and project team members will be available to discuss any questions or provide further information.
