Mayor Durkan and Office of Housing Announce $75 million Investment in Affordable Homes

 

On December 17, 2018 Mayor Jenny A. Durkan and the Office of Housing announced more than $75 million in investments to build and preserve 1,400 affordable homes in neighborhoods across Seattle, including the construction of 1,197 new homes in ten new buildings. This significant investment will provide homes for thousands of low-income households for years to come for seniors, low wage working people and families, and people experiencing homelessness. Several of the investments realize on community visions to provide housing integrated with community assets like an art space, a health clinic, a child care center and a facility for Seniors on Medicaid. These spaces serve the residents of the buildings, and the community.
